"i'd rather not talk
with 3D people." The way the iron gears would crank and grind created tumultuous racket among the hallways, though to the girl who was raised among support engineers it was nothing more than a reminder of home. She couldn't help but wonder what kinda gear they must be using the factory for at the current moment as her deep blue eyes stared up to the ceiling as she walked, carefully observing each and every sharp turn of metal. It wasn't often she found herself out and about wandering halls like this, after all what was the point in interacting with 3D people? Most were ugly, vile, disgusting creatures that had little to no value! At least... when compared to 2D girls that was. She'd been reminded just how little she knew about her soon to be classmates when her close friend Yoko pointed out she didn't even know one of her classmates names... a situation that the young daughter of heroic crafting found herself in as well.
Her eyes would scan the hallway as her ears picked up the pitch of each and every crank of the hallway, making a small song in her head as she walked around with her hands in her pockets. So many of them seemed too hard to approach... either too hearty or too meaty, traits she wasn't particularly looking for in a conversation. She couldn't help but regret that she wasn't able to apply for Seiai, the robotic assistants would've made much better companions to get the names of. That said she had to try right... she'd seem confused in the middle of the hallway as she tried to collect her thoughts, sweat beading onto her forehead from the decision-making. Combat was easy to decide... same with it was the stuff she'd make growing up, but when it came to people... that was truly where she was lacking. It'd almost seem-like she was lost as she stood in the middle of the hall looking for a potential name to grab hold onto.

Akira, meanwhile, was still adjusting to her new life at the comparatively unusual school. There were a lot of things she wasn't quite expecting, such as the way food is given out and having to share a room with someone, though she didn't dislike it enough to regret coming here. In particular, the cold metal walls and floor felt wonderful for her to lay against, and the things she was seeing from the various students in the engineering program were already promising. Surely, someone here would be able help her find a way to live a more normal life while dealing with this annoying quirk of hers. But for now, she'd just have to deal with all of the awkward stares she got anytime she walked down the hallway. Needless to say, her wandering around in what was a essentially a bikini version of the school uniform drew quite a bit of attention. Especially from the teenage boys.
She'd lost count of how many times she's had to explain that she was dressed this way because of her quirk, and it was getting rather tiresome. Especially with all of the girls sending her death-glares for trying to "seduce" their boyfriends/crushes. Even after she explains herself and makes it clear that she'd love nothing more than to be able to cover up without running the risk of quite literally overheating, they still tend to give her a stink-eye every now and then. But this wasn't anything she wasn't already used to. If nothing else, she was thankful that all of the teachers were informed of her condition ahead of time, as, in spite of the awkwardness, they've all done their best to be as accommodating as possible. So it hasn't been too bad. Better than her last school, where it seemed like there was always at least one who didn't get the memo and chewed her out for "being lewd".
Nevertheless, Akira found herself without anything to do, so she was more or less wandering aimlessly around the halls of the school to pass the time. Honestly, she was rather fascinated by the school, especially since it was built into a factory and took full advantage of this. The noise was going to take some getting used to, but all in all, she was liking it here. Either way, as she walked down the hall, she spotted a fellow student standing around and looking rather lost. A feeling of altruism bubbles up inside of her, prompting her to approach the girl with a smile "Excuse me...are you okay? I couldn't help but notice you seem a bit lost..." She pauses for a moment, after getting a good look at her then continues.
"...say...you seem kinda familiar...what was it?..." She pauses yet again, then smiles as she finally manages to put a name to the face in front of her. "Right! Hosokawa-san! Pretty sure we're in the same class. I-B, right?"

"i'd rather not talk
with 3D people." Hibiki's eyes would turn to face her new scantily-clad acquaintance, it seemed that they had just missed the summer queue... though that is not nearly the first thing that would come to the engineer's mind. Words like: Murder, Death, Kill, Hate, 3D, and of course Problem came to her mind well before anything snarky. She'd find her eyes tracing up and down the girl, more out of anxiously trying to avoid the new appearances face than anything perverted. Soon it'd inevitably come to rest onto the girl's face... after around three minutes that was. Her chest would rise and fall with a deep breath she had learned from her favorite virtual content creators... what better person to take advice from than one that was rarely in their 3D model!
The otaku would then speak in an all too monotone voice from beneath her jumpsuit, "I'm always lost and so are you. I think you missed the beach... it's that way. I feel like it'd have been clear where you were going... do beaches often have metal on them? I guess there is that really shitty beach in Musutafu... you shouldn't go swimming there though, my little sister tried to take me there once, we nearly had to get tetanus shots..." She'd point up towards the metal ceiling above as if in someway that is at all helpful in trying to find this elusive beach she was speaking of. That said her tone was in no way trying to be disrespectful, more like she was trying to draw up a conversation from some well on confidence that had long since tried out.
Sweat would begin to bead on her forehead, it was almost like the girl in front of her was radiating an aura of menace... or heat... or menace... though if you were to ask Hibiki she would likely say the same of all 3D girls. As she took a closer less anxious look at the girl in front of her she began to think a little more about it... she did look rather familiar, compared to classmates there weren't many who dressed in quite that manner... though a face wasn't exactly the kind of thing an otaku was adept at looking at or keeping tack of.
Her head would lull to the other side as she attempted to redeem something salvageable from her pitiful attempt at small talk, "You're uhhh... also a girl from my class." She'd nod to herself as if that was appropriate conversation, or a great response.

And there it was.
Akira let out an annoyed sigh at the various comments about how this isn't the beach, no doubt because of her "outfit". She could tell by the tone in Hibiki's voice that she wasn't being intentionally rude, which is the only reason she chose not to be indignant over the comments, but it was still rather annoying when people kept making such assumptions over her appearance. Granted, they were somewhat understandable assumptions, but they were still annoying regardless. Either way, she was getting tired of constantly having to explain herself, but was more or less resigned to the fact that it would need to be done.
However, just as she was about to go into her much-practiced explanation, she couldn't help but notice the look on Hibiki's face as the gears apparently started turning in her head. She then watched with mild amusement as the other girl slowly-but-steadily seemed to mentally piece things together, eventually coming to the realization that the bikini-clad girl in front of her is indeed one of her classmates. Letting out another, though much less annoyed, sigh, Akira nodded in confirmation to Hibiki's deduction. "That's what I was just saying. The name's Akira Ogawa, and I'm...90% sure we're in the same homeroom."
She then, anticipating questions about why she's wandering around in just a bikini, she was quick to go into her usual explanation, though in a slightly better mood than usual. "And before you ask, I'm dressed like this because of my quirk. To put it simply, my blood is extremely hot, and that makes it difficult to keep cool; that includes wearing clothes of any kind. Believe me...I'd love nothing more than to actually be able to wear some actual clothes...but as it is right now, anything more than this runs the risk of...I guess you could call it "overheating"." She paused, letting out one last sigh.
"It's a large part of why I came to this school in particular. I figure if there's a way for me to dress at least semi-normally while lowering the risks of my quirk, someone here is bound to come up with it."

"i'd rather not talk
with 3D people." Hot blood... that would explain the radiating heat that came from her. No doubt the sighs of annoyance were completely lost on Hibiki going over her head and even higher over her non-existent bunny ears. That said she had soon realized that these impressions were going to have to be much better than that... being members of the same class and all she would not doubt find herself in scalding water if she didn't at least try to learn about her classmates, and this one was practically giving her the free postcard with an added bonus of fifty dollars by doing all the heavy lifting!
That said the cold-headed engineer wasn't quite one for socialization... and that would shine even further as she'd move forward pressing her finger against Akira's arm letting the extreme warmth soar through her own body before quickly pulling off. Her eyes would seem to ponder up towards the ceiling, clearly more interested in the pursuit of scientific quirk expansion than talking about herself, "Maybe a windbreaker with fans... ehh... maybe some super-cooling gel packs that reacted in response to extreme heat..." She'd lull the idea around in her head, though memories of her parents either suggested the answer laid within filling her up with unknown chemicals or building a toaster into her bikini... neither of which were to be productive ideas in the long run.
Her long sleeves would come to rest upon the back of her over-filled brain, her eyes closing as she slowly seeped into her element spending way too long without speaking a single word as she seemed to wonder idea after idea before finally opening her eyes with a spark of inspiration that ignited within, "What if we made you a robot servant that dumped ice-water on you every 10 minutes!! Wait that's stupid..." Just as quick as it came the idea seemed to fade into relative obscurity as she let out a drawn out sigh, scratching at her hair, "I'm stumped... maybe mega fans aren't a bad either..."
With a sigh she'd reluctantly fall back into the normal trappings of small talk, "That said I guess wearing a bikini around isn't all bad, I'm sure you've got some fans of a different kind that would keep you cooled." Her eyes would once again close as she finally adjusted into a seeming confidence that came out of sheer anxious social pressure. She'd tilt her head looking at Akira finally taking the time to elaborate as to she herself was, "I'm Hibiki Hosokawa... we're probably in the same class. I'd give it a 75% chance... maybe 60%."
